Yes, people especially around the cities are renting out their driveways in an order to make money.

There are many people with driveways which don’t have cars, or have large driveways with only one car. There is a new way of making the most of your un-used space.

This does not just apply to the residential marketplace, many Churches and commercial businesses are renting out their space in a means of making money. With Churches there are many days during the week where theses spaces are un-used. By renting the spaces out during these times is an extra way of making cash, the same goes for many commercial businesses especially the ones that are closed during the weekend around busy cities.

There has being a lot of media coverage around this subject. A website called Just Park has been created where people can register their driveways and earn money from renting the space. People can search and book a parking slot from a half our to over a year. The website checks what spaces are available in that area and reserves the space for you. Owners of driveways, need to add their parking space to their database and keep the availability up to date. The site will contact them regarding bookings and new enquiries via email. With homeowners the money earn’t can be used to offset the rising costs of living. Renting out your driveway or indeed your garage can be an easy way to earn money. We see a lot of residential properties with wasted land next to their driveways. By extending their current driveway it could enable them to have a lot more parking space.
