Renting out your driveway can receive as much as £2500 a year

Driveway renting incomes of as much as £2500 per year are been received by some homeowners.

Average homeowners could earn £1,000 a year renting their driveway to strangers.

The figures were released on the 20th August 2013, on the back of the announcement from the communities secretary Eric Pickles.  announcement from communities secretary Eric Pickles.

The recent research was carried out by the website YourParkingSpace.co.uk, the website advertises peoples driveways to people looking to save money on expensive car parking fees.

The website has more than 20,000 parking spaces already registered on their site. This is across 10,000 locations in the UK. People are hiring out spare driveways, parking spaces as well as garages.

The site also offers a search facility for people to look for parking spaces, near work, train stations, tube stations or next to sporting venues. They also have a waiting list for people to register on.

They are advertising that you could earn £50 to £300 per month through renting out your parking space.

We thought this would be interesting news for some of the people living in the busy parts of Newcastle and Gateshead. Especially with many people commuting to the City on a daily basis.
